Samuditha foundation – Saketharaman

Samuditha Foundation:

A registered charitable trust founded by Shri Saketharaman to make Carnatic music accessible to all. The foundation works through “music to educate “ and “music to heal” initiatives.
The Samuditha Award of Excellence is presented to outstanding contribution to the Fine Arts. The first recipient of the award was Dr. Alamelu Ramakrishnan for her extensive research and documentation of women composers in her book.

MUSIC TO EDUCATE INITIATIVES

1.Kalashiksha school
Provides innovative musical education to urban and rural children across the country, through collaboration with seasoned teachers, who inspire and teach over 250 students currently, breaking the socio-economic barriers.

2.Cross-over with Saketh concerts
Crossover with Saketh, a brainchild of Vidwan Saketharaman, is a web series intended to enhance the listening experience of Carnatic music. The objective is that the common man should be able to enjoy listening to Carnatic music without any barriers. Crossover is a smash hit, especially with the millennials. Won accolades all over and was featured in Sankara TV Super Singer

3.Pennum Pannum
Addressing the unsung heroine women composers of music, the “Pennum Pannum“ concerts are organized annually by the Foundation to celebrate the women composers on the occasion of International Women’s Day

MUSIC TO HEAL initiatives

MusiMedic – Soulful music transforms the mind. Storm in the health can be calmed by soul-stirring music. Music therapy has been proven to positively augment health in various research. The foundation in collaboration with hospitals organizes events in the hospital premises in which the patients are encouraged to sing and tap to the tunes.
